In 1991 I survived a SUV roll-over accident, which broke my back, but unleashed my spirit. That event started me on profound journey of healing, in which painting and creating art has played a crucial role.
In 1996 an extraordinary Black Lab named Tyler came into my life. For over 10 years we've been together. The profound relationship one has with a service dog became an important foundation for my growth as a person, which is reflected in my art.
I begin painting dogs, which grew in Mutt Butt Studio (www.muttbutt.com). With each dog painting I've done, I came to know an incredible soul whose unconditional love changed someone's life, by simply being their true self.
This became a goal. To use the incredible, healing, power of art to express unconditional love on the canvas. To use line and form to create visual reminders of the powerful, perfect, true self inside of all of us, a door for the eyes to find their way back home, for those who may have forgotten, or just need a reminder.
